Will Young - Friday's Child

As the winner of the hugely popular UK entertainment TV show 'Pop Idol', Will Young is undisputedly (sorry Gareth's fans!) a better singer than Gareth Gates. "Live Right Now", his first single, is a complete sold out across the country, with about 40,000 copies sold each day. Just some facts and figures about this soulful singer. And now, for the reviews.

"Love The One You're With" is a cover of the Northern Soul Song by Crosby, Stills and Nash, which is the gospel-infused opening track of the album. A classic song which brought a new level of listening pleasure to listeners without losing the originality of the song. This is followed by "Your Game". It's the kind jazzy and funky feel you'll get when listening to this track.

On the ballad side, "Very Kind" and "Going My Way" are fantastic and exceptional showcases of Will's impressive vocals. Soulful, powerful and distinctive, especially the former which Will delivers it so marvellously. "Dance The Night Away" as the track title suggests, is an upbeat and catchy song. Excellent for any parties.

Of course, the title track "Friday's Child" is stand-out number. This track elapses over 9 minutes and if you think it's way too long and draggy for a song, then you're being very superficial. It is during this course of time that you slowly feel and develop liking for the song. The blend of the strings and flutes really spells Divine (yes, capital D). No wonder it is being placed as a final track. You'll beg for more of it even when it's done spinning.
